A Personal Note to You

“In your birth space, you don’t need another stranger with a checklist. You deserve someone who knows your heart.”

When families welcome me into their pregnancy, the very first thing I want them to feel is an immediate exhale. The world often fills birth with noise, overwhelming medical jargon, and unsolicited advice.

My promise to you is simple: I hold a peaceful, judgment-free space where your intuition is honored, your partner is empowered, and every question is met with warm patience. Whether your birth unfolds in a hospital room, a birth center, or the calm of your home, I am there to anchor you in calm, relieve your physical discomfort, and celebrate every single step of your journey.

With warmth, Rebecca Sullivan

Real, Practical, Nurturing Care • About Rebecca

Homestead Life and… A Little Crunchy!

Hey mommas, I’m Rebecca—a proud military wife, mom of four, and a little crunchy. Think homemade food, a garden full of herbs, tallow skincare, and probably too many farm animals. I have a quirky sense of humor, a practical approach to life, and a personality that’s equal parts direct, soft, unconventional, and motherly. I’m not afraid of hard work or getting my hands dirty—whether I’m on the farm or supporting you in the birth room.

Outside of doula work, you’ll usually find me with my family on our 5-acre homestead, tending animals, working in the garden, or making something from scratch. I enjoy growing food and herbs and creating products we use at home, including tallow skincare, baby balm, nipple butter, and herbal preparations. I’ve also helped welcome Earth-side 50+ farm animals into the world and counting—including goats, puppies, and piglets. Farm life keeps me patient, resourceful, and ready to jump in when things get messy.

I love cooking, and my husband and I enjoy competing in PNWBA BBQ competitions around Oregon and Washington. Good food is one of my favorite ways to bring people together and care for the people around me. I’d be happy to share!

That same practical, personal approach carries into my doula work: thoughtful preparation, hands-on help, encouragement, and a little humor when you need it. I take your care seriously, but I’m not above bribing you with a homemade cookie for two more pushes. Sometimes support looks like counter-pressure and a calm voice; sometimes it’s helping you laugh when you’re tired, and most times it's unpredictable. I’ll take my cues from you.

My family and experiences shape who I am. Yours may look different, and I respect that. Your values, preferences, and choices guide the care I provide—I want you to feel comfortable being yourself.

I enjoy sharing what I make and learn through local farmers markets, expos, and community events around the Tri-Cities. Eventually, I’d love to create a community garden where families can grow food and learn about gardening, homesteading, and life together.

My long-term goal is to become a licensed Midwife. For now, I’m focused on building The Birth Era Co. and providing thoughtful, personal support to the families I work with.
